GPT 4, the next generation of large language model (LLM) with over 1 trillion parameters, is expected to go beyond text and offer multi-modal capabilities, including videos -- possibly making it a disruptor for content creators and media influencers.
Thanks to GPT 4, anyone and everyone can create content like images, and videos, as long as they know how to elicit the best response from it.
To describe GPT 4 as a game changer is an understatement. It is going to virtually upend all that we have known till now about the generation of content and the resultant creation of a sub-category of media influencers.
There is feverish discussion on GPT 4 and its likely impact following media reports that cited Andreas Braun, chief technology officer at Microsoft Germany, as saying that it may be launched in the coming week.
Even though the specifics are not known, one can safely assume this is how it is going to work. A user can seek the creation of a video and it would be ready in seconds. That artificial intelligence-generated video would be tailored to what you have sought.
That’s why GPT 4 should cause concern to content creators and media influencers. AI-based videos would be personalized to each user – making it a giant leap for content creation. People can watch what they want, instead of depending on content creators and media influencers.
Till now only the recommendation models have been designed to suit the needs of each user so that targeted advertising and marketing could be done.
GPT 4 may well change all that.
Let me add a note of caution, which stems from the way people use GPT and ChatGPT as synonyms. It is not so.
ChatGPT is a byproduct of GPT-3. Just like DALL E, which is a 12-billion parameter version of GPT-3 trained to generate images from text descriptions, using a dataset of text–image pairs.
When we look carefully, we realise that DALL E is based on 12 billion parameters, while GPT 3 had 175 billion parameters.
When it comes to larger parameters, a bigger number may not necessarily mean that it is going to be better.
For example, ChatGPT works through Reinforcement Learning Through Human Feedback (RLHF) that enables Few Shot Learning, a sub area of machine learning, which is considered an example of meta learning.
So, ChatGPT, which is our friendly conversational chatbot, works just fine with much lesser parameters as compared to GPT 3, GPT 3.5 and now GPT 4.
Undoubtedly, GPT 4 is a wake-up call for content creators and media influencers as it may well rewrite the rules of the content game.
