AI will increase scams exponentially according to 'Catch Me If You Can' conman
Society

London: Frank Abagnale Jr, the conman who evaded FBI for years and whose exploits famously inspired the Leonardo Di Caprio movie ‘Catch Me If You Can’, has warned that the advent of Artificial Intelligence will go on to increase frauds and scammers in the world.

Talking with the Daily Mail, Frank said that the biggest threat that AI poses is that everything can be ‘replicated, duplicated, counterfeited or AI manipulated’ nowadays. Technology is a big threat to privacy and security and according to Frank, AI will only go on to make cyber crime even worse.

This notion comes after the UK government in a report last year claimed that GenAI would increase scams in the next 18 months. In a recent report it has also been stated that nearly one in five people in England fall to these cyber hoaxes.
