US State Department to hold military conference over responsible use of AI
Policy

New York: The US State Department is all set to hold a conference with its military allies over responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Military Integration. This comes after countries have ramped up their efforts to utilise AI in military navigation and tools.

Accoring to Fox News Digital, the State Department will have the first meeting of signatories over the topic of military applications of AI and the best way to use them. The USA and 53 other nations had signed the Political Declaration on Responsible Military Use of Artificial Intelligence and Autonomy last year.

The meeting according to officials will be the first between the signatories and will feature 42 participants. As per state officials the meeting will discuss military backgrounds that can help prevail responsible AI use.

The experts however suggest that the meeting is in vain as the countries that can be worrisome with AI use in military haven’t signed the proposed policy. The key nations with missing signatures include China, Brazil, India, Russia, Saudi Arabia, among others.
