New Delhi: The Ministry of Electronics and IT of India recently issued an advisory in which it mentioned that the AI platforms going forward will require permission from the government to launch its new products in India.
The move according to moneycontrol has brought in a lot of flack from industry experts as they say the notion is “regressive”. Experts claim that it makes no sense to regulate AI products as none of them are as powerful to create a disruption. The IT Minister of India clarified that these regulations were only limited to large firms and not startups.
In the social media, the advisory has created a furore, with many questioning the government that whether this advisory has followed post Google’s Gemini called Narendra Modi a fascist.
Just like the recent regulations brought in by the current government, the AI regulations have also invited flack of being suppressive.
