European Commission launches AI office as a watchdog against Risks
Policy

New York:  The European Commission on Saturday confirmed the establishment of an artificial intelligence (AI) office. The new AI office will act as a global reference point on the technology and work towards preventing potential risks.

As reported by Fox News the new commission will work towards supporting and facilitating development of trustworthy AI. This is a massive step as it forms a singular body for European AI governance.

One of the key motives behind the union is creating a stable AI ecosystem which benefits the society economically and coordinate policy matters. The office will look into AI policies by member states in accordance with the Bletchley Declaration.

Industry experts see it as a big positive as it could mean an AI regulatory body which is as stringent and good for human interest like the European Labour Union.
